John Hritcko, Jr.

Natural gas is the “bridge to our energy future.” John Hritcko is a “bridge builder” developing ways to deliver gas to customers.

Mr. Hritcko is an experienced energy professional, skilled in formulating innovative strategies to seize new business opportunities and develop large energy infrastructure projects. An acknowledged authority on natural gas matters with the ability to distill technical issues into simple, everyday language, he is a frequent participant at energy forums.

He has had a full and wide-ranging career in the natural gas sector, spanning technical and commercial disciplines within interstate pipeline, midstream, major oil & gas, and international EPC companies. He played a key role for the Columbia Gas System in implementing the turn around of the idle Cove Point business by devising a successful marketing and regulatory affairs strategy then managing the Cove Point joint venture.

While serving as Vice President, LNG Strategy & Development for Shell US Gas & Power, Mr. Hritcko’s primary responsibility was building Shell’s capability to import LNG into the U.S. including managing Shell’s capacity interests at existing US import terminals. As Sr. Vice President and Regional Project Director for Broadwater Energy LLC, Mr. Hritcko directed project development teams and led the public outreach program while securing federal permits for a critically needed energy project intended to serve the NYC Metropolitan gas market.

More recently, Mr. Hritcko led the business development of floating LNG solutions for Shanghai-based Wison Offshore & Marine (USA), Inc. Subsequently, while working for TRC, an engineering, environmental consulting, and construction management firm, he was responsible for expanding the company’s oil & gas practice. He has testified before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, and various state agencies on energy infrastructure matters. He led a joint industry subcommittee on LNG for the National Petroleum Council during the 2003 Natural Gas Study. Mr. Hritcko was a featured speaker during the U.S. – China Natural Gas Training Program at Haikou, Hainan Province, Peoples Republic of China in 2009, sponsored jointly by the Training Center of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the U.S. Energy Association, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.

Mr. Hritcko graduated with an Associate Degree in Engineering Sciences from Broome Community College in Binghamton, NY. He holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.  He later earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston.
